California Car Accident Attorney John Rapillo Comments on Study Ranking the Safest Driving Cities in America
Orange County, CA (PRWEB) November 06, 2013 -- Many California cities received high marks in a recent study ranking the safest driving cities in America, which is good news for California drivers, according to Huntington Beach, CA personal injury lawyer John Rapillo of the Law Offices of John Rapillo.
“This is great news for anyone who uses the roads in California,” Rapillo said today. “Auto accidents in California can have devastating consequences, and we have some of the busiest highways in the country. That’s why this announcement is such welcome news. And, hopefully, we can stay this way – and perhaps even get better – thanks to people driving safely and not putting their lives or others at risk on the road.”
Allstate Insurance Company recently released its annual Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report, “Where are the Safest Driving Cities in America? The Ninth Annual 'Allstate America's Best Drivers Report®' Reveals New Results” (Aug. 27, 2013). The report analyzed car accident statistics for the 200 largest cities in the country. The report then compared accident statistics to the national average for car accidents. On average, drivers are involved in a car accident once every 10 years.
Fort Collins, CO was rated the safest driving city in America. Residents there are involved in an accident every 13.9 years. The highest ranked city in California was Visalia, CA, which was ranked 8th in the country for safe driving. Residents in Visalia, CA are involved in car accidents on average every 12.3 years, according to Allstate.
Including Visalia, California had 13 cities ranked in the top 100 for the safest driving cities. These cities include Salinas, CA (ranked 46th), Bakersfield, CA (56), Fresno, CA (57), Palmdale, CA (60), Lancaster (61), Thousand Oaks, CA (72) Fontana, CA (74), Chula Vista, CA (86), Modesto, CA (90), San Bernardino, CA (94), Rancho Cucamonga, CA (98) and Escondido, CA (99).
San Diego, CA was ranked the second safest driving city for cities with more than 1 million residents, Allstate reported. Other top 10 cities for safe driving with more than 1 million people in California include Los Angeles. The California cities of Huntington Beach, CA (ranked 117th) and Irvine, CA (149) were also included on the list, which featured a total of 43 cities in California.
Such annual reports serve as a valuable reminder about the importance of driver safety in California and across America, according to Huntington Beach, CA auto accident attorney John Rapillo of the Law Offices of John Rapillo.
“Too often, too many of us forget just how dangerous car accidents in California can be,” Rapillo said. “That’s why annual reports like this one serve such a valuable purpose. They remind us each year just how safe some cities are – and how dangerous many other ones can be. Drivers in Irvine, CA, for example, will likely be in a car accident every 8 years. That means drivers there are 25.2 percent more likely to be in a car accident than the national average. Those are startling numbers with serious implications. That’s why it’s critical that drivers in Irvine, CA and other communities throughout California continue to be vigilant in order to stay safe on the road. All it takes is one small mistake to cause a serious auto accident that could change your life forever.”
