New innovative paid placement ad bidding platform from AvantLink merges banner advertisements/media buys with performance marketing.

AvantLink, the premier affiliate marketing network for quality web retailers, announced today the launch of their Paid Placement Bidding System. This new technology is yet another first in the CPS affiliate marketing space from AvantLink.

The Paid Placement Bidding System allows publishers to streamline and automate display ad placements on their site(s) in daily increments, while at the same time giving merchants an opportunity to bid on and secure these placements for specific dates.

All AvantLink network members now have access to the Paid Placement Bidding System, and the new functionality is available on both (US) and (CAN).

"The Paid Placement Bidding System was developed in response to Mark Silliman's ( request for an efficient ad serving system that would help manage paid placements from AvantLink merchants," says Scott Kalbach, CEO of AvantLink. "We pride ourselves on responding to the needs of publishers, and with Mark's help we came up with a solid system that meets a demand and solves a problem."

He adds, "Sale referrals are great, but there is also inherent value for merchants in targeted branding. Merchants on our network can now secure premium placements on high-value publisher websites, even outbidding larger competitors in the process."

Publishers use the platform by:

  • offering 24-hour paid placements specifying ad unit sizes & where the ads will appear.
  • selecting default display ads (from any network) to run while the bidding process plays out.
  • installing a short line of HTML on their website(s) where the ads will be displayed.

Merchants use the platform by:

  • searching available paid placements from their publishers.
  • selecting ad units compatible with their publisher's designated placement offers.
  • choosing the number of days to secure 24-hour placements, and bidding on the offer.

Publishers set a minimum 24-hour bid amount for each placement offer. They can manually accept or deny bids, or auto-accept them. Merchants bid on specific date ranges, however competing stores can out bid one another with higher bids.

"The Paid Placement Bidding System evens the playing field for all merchants," says Kalbach. "The response from BETA testers has been overwhelmingly positive, so we're excited to take it live!"
