AVC Corporation announced that it is an official participant in Amazon’s Packaging Support and Supplier Network (APASS) program. The APASS program was designed by Amazon to direct suppliers and sellers to approved designers, manufactures testing labs. AVC offers direct packaging design and manufacturing services in US and China to vendors and brands, providing them with the Amazon compliant FFP (Frustration-Free Packaging) and SIOC (Ship-In-Own-Container) packaging.

Amazon expects that beginning August 1, 2019, most ASINs (Amazon Standard Identification Number) must be certified through Amazon’s Frustration-Free Packaging Certification programs as ready-to ship (Tier 1 - Frustration-Free Packaging (FFP) or Tier 2 - Ships in Own Container (SIOC)). The ASINs that require certification and do not fall under any exclusions will be issued a chargeback of $1.99/unit received beginning August 1, 2019. This rollout includes both Vendors and distributors.

To encourage early adoption, Amazon offers a one-time early adopter credit of $1.00/unit to Vendors that certify their items under their Frustration-Free Packaging Program guidelines (Tier 1 – FFP or Tier 2 – SIOC). The credit is intended to assist in the transition costs associated with this initiative and will be issued as a one-time credit in August 2019. The credit is only applicable for items that are certified under Amazon’s Frustration-Free Packaging Program guidelines (Tier 1 - FFP or Tier 2 -SIOC) between now and July 31, 2019.

“We realized the challenges of transforming current packaging to be 100% eco-friendly and are excited to be a part of the APASS network. “AVC is determined to create easy-to-open, 100% recyclable packaging solutions for its clients,” said Guy Marom, AVC’s Executive Vice President. “We will work together with you to streamline the process of making your packaging to be compliant and, at the same time, to meet the functional and aesthetic demand of the e-commerce channel.”

AVC, an ISO 9001:2015 certified company, is celebrating its 30-year anniversary, ensuring you that it has the expertise and design capability so that your packaging will meet the stringent rules that Amazon has outlined in their APASS program. AVC has been working diligently with Fortune 100 companies to design and manufacture packaging that is APASS compliant, enabling these clients to reduce their product packaging material significantly without compromising protection or aesthetics.

All research and design is done at AVC’s Rancho Dominguez complex, while the packaging itself can be manufactured both in the U.S. or at AVC’s China facilities. AVC’s proximity to Los Angeles/Long Beach ports provides extra value in minimizing drayage costs for products with a short lead time. AVC’s forward (B to B and B to C fulfillment services) and reverse logistics programs, includes sorting, refurbishing and recertifying in a fluid, end to end, supply chain solution. AVC’s China facilities offers a flexible and hybrid supply chain solution to AVC’s customers that has proved to generate positive financial results.

AVC Corporation is based in the Greater Los Angeles, CA area.
