SAN FRANCISCO, June 30, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Avid 1960's poster collector Andrew Hawley, from Vintage Rock Posters, announces his search for original boxing style 1963 Bob Dylan Mosque Theater concert posters. The show was early in Dylan's career, and the November 30 concert was not sold out. According to Hawley, "Dylan was an artist's artist at the time. Many leading folk groups like Peter Paul and Mary were doing covers with his songs. Some like "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" were top hits. The show at the Mosque was Dylan's first concert in New Jersey. He had caught the eye of Moe Septee a leading promoter of folk acts. The poster was designed by the New York based Murray Poster Printing Company and is unique because it incorporated newspaper and magazine quotes in its layout. Septee borrowed this technique from Harold Leventhal who used quotes in the poster that promoted Dylan's first big show at the TownHall in New York City earlier that year. The 14x22 inch layout features a stock photo of the artist against a yellow background. The use of quotes was a common feature of 1960s Dylan boxing style posters."
Hawley is willing to pay $5,000 cash for this or any other original 1962-1966 Bob Dylan boxing style concert poster. Any condition would be accepted. Please call 310-346-1965 or email andrew at vintageconcertposterbuyer.com.
