The Barone Defense Firm is pleased to announce that starting in 2016, 1% of all client fees will be donated to a Charitable Giving Account. The proceeds invested in this account will then be used to donate to eligible non-profits whose causes are in concert with the Firm’s own mission.

A small committee composed of Firm members will then decide how and to whom to disperse these funds. “The Barone Defense Firm exists to help people win back their lives,” said Patrick Barone, the Firm’s Founding Partner and CEO. Earlier this year we decided that we’d like to extend our mission beyond the people who we touch as clients. This charitable giving account allows us to do this” said Barone.

The Barone Defense Firm is headquartered in Birmingham, Michigan and also has offices in downtown Grand Rapids. The Firm was founded in 2003, and exclusively handles offenses involving intoxicate driving, including those cases with serious injury or death.

“Many of our clients have a history of drug or alcohol abuse, and our team often acts a sort of intervention, helping to guide our clients through the recovery process. Not only is this the right thing to do, it often pays significant dividend as it relates to the defense of the criminal matter,” said Barone.

The charitable giving account will be used as a means to donate to charities, churches, synagogues, and other 403 organizations that help clients address their substance use, underlying mental and spiritual health. The Firm hopes to raise between $15,000 and $25,000 during the first year, and then to increase the amount of giving each year. “We are really excited about this opportunity to make a difference in the communities we serve” said Barone.
