Westshore Agency Collaborates with The Gathering Place and Introduces New Charity Campaign to Help Families Affected by Cancer
Bay Village, OH (PRWEB) June 08, 2016 -- Westshore Agency debuts the latest charity campaign in its recognized community enrichment program serving families of Bay Village and areas west of Cleveland, and announces their intent to direct efforts in raising funds for The Gathering Place, a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the various needs of those battling cancer. Readers who wish to support this worthy cause may now contribute at: https://touchedbycancer.org/donate.
The Gathering Place was founded 15 years ago as a grass-roots effort to provide a peaceful space where people could feel safe and connected with others amid the chaos of fighting cancer. Since then, The Gathering Place has served over 35,000 patients, family members and friends. Seeking to support, educate and empower all those touched by cancer, programs are offered free of charge and are designed to heal the body, the mind and the spirit, with an emphasis on embracing life. To name just a few, services include counseling, a medical lending library, art therapy, gentle movement and exercise classes, massage, cooking and dietary classes and wig services.
“When someone is diagnosed with cancer, it impacts virtually every person in their lives,” said Greg Brawner, owner of Westshore Insurance Agency. “Making our community better and stronger is the ultimate goal of our Community Program, and we believe that supporting families as they walk the cancer journey is a meaningful way to do just that.”
The team at Westshore Agency has set a fundraising goal of $500, with the agency itself pledging to donate $10 to the cause for every recommendation they receive for an insurance quote, with no purchase necessary, making it easy for everyone to get on board. The team will promote the campaign over the course of the next two months through social media channels, email and text message communications, as well as through their monthly magazine. Our Hometown, which is delivered to thousands of households in Bay Village and surrounding areas, has a full page dedicated to featuring the initiative for The Gathering Place.
