Becker's ASC Review, Johnson & Johnson Medical Device Companies Unveils 310 ASCs With Total Joint Replacements
Becker's ASC Review is proud to release a list of 310 ASCs that included total joint replacements as of April 2019.
CHICAGO, May 8, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Total joint replacements are increasingly moving into outpatient ambulatory surgery centers across the United States. From 2014 to 2017, the number of ASCs with total joints jumped from about 25 to more than 200, according to Advisory Board, and Becker's has calculated in excess of 300 ASCs in nearly every state now include total joints. Find the list here.
In 2018, around 25 percent of total joints were projected to be performed in the outpatient setting, and that number is expected to grow. By 2026, Sg2 predicts more than 51 percent of total joint surgeries will be done in an outpatient setting. About half of total joint replacement patients report a one- or two-day length of stay at the hospital, making them potential candidates for the ASC, according to Sg2.
Freestanding ASCs as well as centers affiliated with hospitals, health systems and companies such as Surgical Care Affiliates, United Surgical Partners International, SurgCenter Development, AmSurg and Regent Surgical Health include total joint replacements.
Becker's ASC Review is proud to release a list of 310 ASCs that included total joint replacements as of April 2019. The list was developed through editorial research and sponsored by Johnson & Johnson Medical Device Companies. Centers are listed by state in alphabetical order.
