The Beekman Boys Arrive in Style at the Lenox Hotel in Boston's Back Bay
Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 14, 2015 -- The historic Lenox Hotel in Boston’s Back Bay is once again doing something incredibly innovative and completely fun and unexpected. This time, the team at the hotel, led by VP and Managing Director Dan Donahue, is partnering with Beekman 1802, one of the “fastest growing lifestyle brands in the country” to completely revamp their in-room bath amenities. But the new partnership goes well beyond the guest room. New Beekman salted caramel turndown amenities, scented custom candles, room sprays, an exclusive lobby pop-up store, book signings and lots more are in store as a result of this exciting partnership. The Lenox is pleased to be the only hotel in New England to showcase Beekman products in their hotel guest rooms, in their restaurant, City Table, and in the lobby, permitting the Beekman brand and experience to touch the hotel guest at nearly every point.
Just who are the Beekman Boys? The Beekman Boys - Josh Kilmer-Purcell and his husband and business partner Brent Ridge - purchased the historic Beekman 1802 Farm in Sharon Springs, New York in 2007 and shortly after taking in a neighboring farmer and his herd of beloved dairy goats, they began producing soaps and cheeses.
As other neighbors taught them how to farm, Ridge and Kilmer-Purcell shared their city-honed skills, starting a website and Mercantile. The men began working with several other local farmers and artisans to market their goods.
As winners of the 21st season of the hit reality series The Amazing Race, they are the stars of The Fabulous Beekman Boys on the Cooking Channel and have been featured on The Martha Stewart Show, in the New York Times, Vogue, and Vanity Fair.
Says Dan Donahue of the Lenox: “All of us love working with Brent, Josh and Beekman 1802 because they have proven that a farm can be much bigger than its fences. Their farm might just be a location on the map, but they count as their neighbors, guests from all around the world, just like we do here at the Lenox. This partnership is so much more than a working relationship. It’s a friendship between two very like-minded brands.”
The Lenox and Beekman take skin care very seriously. That's why the hotel is so excited to use Beekman soaps and skin care products that are designed on a farm, not in a lab. The Beekman 1802 products that the Lenox is offering their guests in-room - soaps, shampoos, body wash & lotions and conditioners - incorporate fresh goat milk from the Beekman 1802 Farm, and can be used on the most sensitive skin types.
In addition, the hotel is excited about what the future holds with Beekman 1802. In the hotel’s Lobby, an exclusive pop-up Beekman store opens on October 15th just in time for the holidays, and both Brent and Josh are excited to help re-design one of the hotel’s specialty, luxury suites in 2016 with their new line of furniture, bedding, lighting and home accessories.
There is also a book signing with the Beekman Boys taking place on October 15th at the Lenox as the two famed authors sign copies of their new book, Style. This event, where guests can meet Josh and Brent in the Lenox Hotel’s Dome Room and shop the new Pop-Up store when it opens for the first time, is open to the public. Book signing is scheduled for Thursday, October 15th from 7-9pm, and guests can buy Style books on-site for Josh and Brent to personally sign.
