Italian Olive Oil Producer Bellucci Premium Comments on a New Use for Olive Oil in Candles
Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) October 02, 2013 -- Bellucci Premium comments on an article by The Olive Oil Times which details the invention of solid olive oil based candles.
According to the article published on September 25th titled, “New Way for Olive Oil to Light up Religious Rituals,” a new candle primarily made up of olive oil has been developed by AviKosovski-Shahor. This candle is solid, unlike current olive oil candles in the market that have a jelly-like consistency.
The article shares how the current olive oil candles in the market need to be housed to keep in the liquid. The new candle that has been developed contains a large amount of olive oil and is able to be held without any form of housing.
This candle would be preferred by those of the Jewish religion because olive oil is favored when it comes to lighting candles for their religious ceremonies. “Particularly, when lighting the Shabbat and Chanukkah candles, as olive oil is easily drawn into the wick, its light burns clearly, and to commemorate the fact that the miracle of Chanukkah happened with olive oil,” says Kosovki-Shahor in the article.
According to the article, an extensive process must be followed in order to create candles with olive oil. The new candles are said to be a mix of paraffin wax and a preferred 50% concentration of olive oil.
“These candles represent another great use of olive oil,” says Natalie Sexenian, marketing manager for Italian olive oil producer Bellucci Premium. “Olive oil is a great resource. Not only does it have great health benefits, but it can also be used in many unconventional ways,” she says. “Here at Bellucci Premium, we are always excited to find new and innovative ways to use olive oil.”
Bellucci offers three different types of oil, including an organic option, with a mild peppery flavor and fruity undertones that will satisfy any palate. Bellucci Premium Toscano extra virgin olive oil uses olives that are grown on the beautiful landscapes of Tuscany, and maintained by 3rd and 4th generation farmers. The third type of oil Bellucci produces is the finest 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, grown in many different regions of Italy.
