Beltmann Integrated Logistics, a 3PL company specializing in distribution, warehousing and transportation of its customers’ products and assets, recently launched a new app for android phones that can track items as they are moved. The app, Total Trak Mobile, can be used in conjunction with Total Trak, Beltmann’s Order Management System (OMS), which allows customers to track their assets from their desktop computers.

Developed with the input of key customers, this Android application allows for the capture of asset data in the field quickly, with complete accuracy, while transmitting data in near real-time to our project managers and our customers.

The new app allows the user to collect serial number and asset tag data using bar code scanning, so users can match the numbers against a pre-populated list, and can efficiently conduct simple item counts and record descriptions. Using the data recorded, the app offers real-time information for first and final mile pick-ups and deliveries, so customers know exactly which of their products have reached their destination, when, and who signed for them. The app also emails the customer a receipt containing the asset list. Upon order close-out, the app downloads the captured information to the Total Trak OMS.

Total Trak Mobile was built on a widely used mobile platform and is designed to work on most Android devices, so it can easily be deployed across a large network, or downloaded on the spot. The app is easy to use, was created with intuitive design, and is formatted for cell phone screen size.

Beltmann’s customers are typically businesses in medical and healthcare logistics, education and government relocations and commercial businesses, such as hotels and retail stores, as well as companies specializing in information technology asset disposal. While the app was designed with the recovery of technology assets in mind, it can be used for essentially any product, particularly where the recording of serial or asset numbers is needed.

Marc Van Kley, President and Chief Operating Officer at Beltmann Integrated Logistics, commented: “Following on the launch of our entirely new Total Trak platform in 2015, I am proud to announce the release of Total Trak Mobile. Developed with the input of key customers, this Android application allows for the capture of asset data in the field quickly, with complete accuracy, while transmitting data in near real-time to our project managers and our customers. Developed exclusively for Beltmann Integrated Logistics, this system is easy to use, and is highly configurable to specific customer requirements.”
