In a poll of 70 leading PPP companies around the world, Benelux was voted as one of the top ranked areas to see the greatest activity in 2013. Throughout the EU, the Benelux PPP market is seen as very attractive with a focus on value for money and balanced distribution of risks, standardisation, professionalism and expertise of private and public sector, as well as a strong pipeline of stable and transparent projects (around €5 to 6bn in the next five years in the Netherlands alone). Furthermore, bank financing remains strong and a significant increase in appetite from institutional investors and funds, both domestic and foreign, are investing in PPP projects.
