About the Author
Bernard Spilsbury is a journalist, and has been writing and reporting for more than 40 years. He began his career at an aviation news agency. He later became the air correspondent for the Manchester Evening News (then Britain’s biggest evening newspaper outside London). Spilsbury has travelled extensively across the globe on reporting duties. He served in the Royal Air Force for two years as a fighter-plotter, and then as a radar operator during the Cold War. He currently resides in North Cheshire with his wife. They have three children and eight grand-children. Spilsbury describes himself as fascinated with family history. He has traced his own family tree all the way back to the 16th century.
