Best Drug Rehabilitation Offers Hope For Family Members of People Struggling With Addiction
Manistee, Michigan (PRWEB) May 19, 2016 -- People who might be feeling the effects of issues resulting from a close friend or a family member’s substance abuse may be able to find some hope in a recent video uploaded to the Best Drug Rehabilitation YouTube channel. The video features clips from interviews of patients at Best Drug Rehabilitation, a holistic treatment center for addiction located in Manistee, MI, who were confronted by loved ones who were concerned about their drug and alcohol abuse. A counselor from the recovery center is also shown offering professional advice on approaching friends or family members about their addictive behaviors.
“Making the decision to seek professional help in overcoming addiction is a major obstacle in an already difficult time,” commented Best Drug Rehabilitation founder Per Wickstrom. “Many people who are watching someone that they care about destroy their lives and bodies with drug and alcohol abuse are afraid to approach that person because they are not sure how they will react. But we have to rise above that fear. It is a delicate process, to be sure, but one that is necessary if we want to see our loved one get better."
What Best Drug Rehabilitation Patients Say
Isaac W. and Dolly H. are the two patients featured sharing their testimony with viewers in this video, explaining how they found their way to Best Drug Rehabilitation at the insistence of those who cared about them. They discuss their initial reactions, their realization that they needed a change in their lives, and their gratitude towards their loved ones for helping to open their eyes.
Dolly agreed to get help when her family voiced their concerns. “Sometimes, that can be scary for people, because you don’t know how they are going to react,” Dolly observes, “but that’s the key – you don’t know how they are going to react. (My family) saved my life. I won’t be able to repay that. The only way I can do that is by staying sober. Show them that what they did saved me.”
Isaac, who was approached by his wife and his sisters, was more resistant at first. “She had a bag packed for me, and said ‘Hey, you’re going to rehab’,” he says. “I was like ‘No, no I’m not. What are you talking about?’ I know I had a problem, but it was something that I thought I could handle on my own.” He relented after his wife put him on the phone with a BDR Intake Coordinator.
Best Drug Rehabilitation makes a commitment to help every person that comes to their recovery center in any way that they can, including offering the family assistance with intervention efforts. “Sitting back and hoping things will work themselves out is doing nobody any good,” continued founder Wickstrom, “and only enables the individual to continue down the deadly path of addiction. This video is intended to offer hope to those who may feel trapped in a hopeless situation.” Additional information on their addiction treatment program and family intervention can be found by visiting the Best Drug
