Sunset Finances Balks at TLC’s Series, “Best Funeral Ever”
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) September 27, 2013 -- Today, Sunset Finances publicized their displeasure in the airing of TLC’s reality series, “Best Funeral Ever.” Lynette Rice of Entertainment Weekly wrote an article published September 26th, 2013 titled, “‘Best Funeral Ever’ Returns to TLC—EXCLUSIVE,” which disclosed that the show is set to begin airing on October 23rd.
The above-mentioned article stated that the show, an unscripted reality-type series which originally aired on January 6th, features a Texas funeral home known for organizing what the article referred to as “unique (a nice way to put it) funerals that are dubbed “home-going celebrations.”” The upcoming season is set to air episodes including a chocolate-covered coffin, a funeral with a track and field theme and a memorial for a deceased youth whose favorite meal was breakfast.
Sunset Finances stated that while they are completely in favor of progressive and completely customized life celebrations for loved ones who have passed, they think a line should be drawn against filming and airing such events on national television. Sunset Finances is quoted as saying, “There are reality series for everything under the sun it seems, but we are shocked that it has actually stooped so low as to film and broadcast funerals. We feel as though a line is being crossed, that the respect for the deceased is not really present. Plus, there’s nothing alright with using somebody’s death as a means to achieve one’s 15 minutes of fame.”
As a company, Sunset Finances prides itself on being a place where families can come to celebrate and honor the lives of their deceased loved ones.
