Today's business owner or marketer faces information overload among books to buy.
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 23, 2015
The JM Internet Group, a top provider of SEO Training online, is proud to announce that its director, Jason McDonald, has initiated a new list on the best business books available for purchase via Amazon.com. The list follows upon his popular list of the top books on search engine optimization and grows out of his teaching activities in search engine optimization, AdWords, and social media marketing.
"The popularity of my first list of SEO books made me realize that small business owners and marketers have a hunger for information yet face information overload," explained Jason McDonald, Senior Director of the JM Internet Group. "The concept here is to monitor best-selling business books on Amazon, filtering out the purely conceptual books and selecting only books that give practical, actionable advise on how to be a better small business person. Given our focus on online marketing, the book list will slant towards marketing as well."

Two Types of Best-Selling Business Books
The world of books is as crowded as ever, as the book reading public migrates online. Within the realm of books on business, two main types of books have emerged. The first type might be called a "conceptual" book or a "think piece." Books such as the new book, Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX and the Quest for a Fantastic Future by Ashlee Vance, fall into this first category. These books are not meant to provide "hands on" advice for a small business owner or marketer. Rather, they overview an area of interest and provide fun, informative food-for-thought to the reader. At the end of the reading experience, however, the reader can be left with little or nothing in terms of practical advice for his or her business. The second type of business book might be called a "hands on" books. These books can be very conceptual and thought-provoking, but they have a focus on practical, hands-on advice on how to be a better business person. Dale Carnegie's classic, How to Win Friends and Influence People, falls into this category. At the end of reading this book, the reader does indeed have practical advice on how to change his or her business behavior to achieve better results.
The purpose of the new list by Jason McDonald is to emphasize the latter type of books. Within the realm on online marketing (SEO, AdWords, and Social Media Marketing), it is the hands-on, practical advice that is craved by small business owners and marketers. The new list will help to separate the wheat from the chaff, identifying informative, fun, and above all practical best-selling business books on Amazon that can really help a small business.
The list is open to recommendations, and Dr. McDonald in fact receives many submissions from book authors to be included on the list. The criteria are simply that the book be on the topic, be available on Amazon, and be sufficiently innovative yet basic in content so that a small business marketer can follow its advice. Interested parties are referred to the JM Internet Group website or Jason McDonald's private website at http://www.jasonmcdonald.org/ to submit books for possible inclusion.
