Oneness Perfume’s Watch List of Real Perfumes vs. Knock Offs
(PRWEB) July 27, 2013 -- A perfume purchase is often made enticing by companies that offer cut rate prices for expensive labels. The buyer sometimes sees the offer of their favorite perfume brand made affordable at flea markets and smaller kiosks that may pretend to use the excuse of high volume sales as their offset to lowered prices. It sounds sensible and the item seems to be legitimate. So how does the buyer maneuver successfully through these minefields and make a wise purchase?
First, please note, that you are not alone in this dilemma. The perfume market has for a long time been flooded with inferior copycats that appear to be authentic. The buyer needs to be much savvier today to weed out the frauds and locate the real deals. Having said that, there are tried and true ways to avoid the pitfalls set before the consumer and come away with a real bargain or not.
1. Avoid purchasing any product if the cellophane is not securely fitted to the box. The shoddy repacking of a product can be a giveaway.
2. Make sure that the cap on the perfume is secured properly. A loose cap could mean the bottle was opened and partially filled with unknown contents.
3. The bottom of the box is the only place you should find a UPC label, and it must be there.
4. Make sure that the name of the fragrance is spelled properly. Misspelling is no accident and denotes that it is an entirely different product. Quality perfumers do not make spelling mistakes.
5. Try going to a department store first to locate your favorite fragrance and see exactly what it looks like, so that you are aware of exactly what you’re looking for at the discount vendor.
6. Breaking out in a rash subsequent to application could be a sign that something is amiss. It could be an honest reaction, but it can also be a reaction to something that has inappropriately been added to the product.
The legitimate perfume industry loses millions of dollars due to consumer fraud. Consumers also lose because they end up purchasing products that are not as expected, so they end up unhappy with their purchase and may never buy that particular product again. Buyer beware is an unfortunate situation that can be made less troublesome when the buyer is aware.
