The eye care industry has experienced a change in recent years in which many patients are now using the expertise and fitting services of the ECP to purchase the same eyewear somewhere else at a lower cost. Large manufacturers are making this possible by pushing product and flooding the market with easy access, mass-produced optical frames with no regard to how it is affecting the eye care profession.

In a bold effort to protect the optical dispensary and boutique from being “show roomed” to potential customers who intend to purchase online, Best Image Optical has had a firm company policy in which their eyewear brands (Dolabany Eyewear, Mario Galbatti, & Plume Paris) are only available through brick and mortar locations and not to be sold online or to chain-store discounters.
