New Book Finds Woman Trying To Rebuild Her Life after Dangerous Divorce
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (PRWEB) November 03, 2015 -- Jessie thinks her troubles with her ex-husband are over until he attacks her at work. Fleeing with her daughter, Jessie relocates to Pelican Island to try and begin a new life free from the fear of the past.
In “Pelican Island Pharmacy” (published by Archway Publishing), Jessie finds that her quaint new life brings its own challenges as a rivalry brews and new men enter her world. She must decide if she can ever trust a man again and open her heart to love when the past always seems to be just around the corner.
First-time author Betsy Hess Sleath draws from her own experience as a pharmacist, a divorcee and a resident of a small coastal town to craft a novel focused on resilience and overcoming obstacles to find happiness.
An excerpt from “Pelican Island Pharmacy”:
“‘Oh, now you want to talk more?’ He twisted her arm harder and slammed Jessie’s body against the pharmacy shelves. Some of the bottles fell off the shelf. ‘I am so sick of your bullshit. You got me in trouble in Connecticut. Well, guess what? We aren’t there anymore.’”
