Article on National Plastic Surgery Desires Highlights the Smaller Than Expected Gap Between Male and Female Surgery Preferences, Notes Beverly Hills Physicians
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 23, 2015 -- According to an article published September 24th on YouGov.com, 35 percent of American women said in a survey that they would want cosmetic surgery if cost was no option, while 21 percent of men answered the same way. The fact women were more than one and a half times more likely to answer “yes” pairs well with the actuality that women receive cosmetic procedures more than men, however, the gap in the survey is nowhere near as wide as the actual breakdown of who receives a procedure. Los Angeles plastic surgery group Beverly Hills Physicians, citing information from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), explains that nearly 90 percent of all procedures are elected by female patients. This means that while over 35 percent of the people who say they want plastic surgery are men, only 10 percent of people who go through with procedures are male. According to Beverly Hills Physicians, part of this has to do with plastic surgery offices needing to do a better job in terms of reaching out to male patients and explaining the benefits of certain procedures that provide outstanding results for male patients. Toward this end, BHP notes procedures in particular that their male patients are consistently happy with:
• Blepharoplasty – More commonly referred to as eyelid surgery, a blepharoplasty is extremely effective at removing sagging or bagginess above or below the eyes. Beverly Hills Physicians explains that the blepharoplasty can be employed on the upper eyelids, the lower eyelids, or both, depending on the patient’s individual needs.
• Rhinoplasty – Often referred to as a nose job, the rhinoplasty can be used for functional medical benefits, but also towards cosmetic ends for patients who are uncomfortable with the size and shape of their nose. Beverly Hills Physicians explains that the look of a patient’s nose is not a gendered issue, and this an incredibly popular procedure for their male patients. And, according to the ASPS data, it is the most commonly requested procedure from men nationally.
• Liposuction – Beverly Hills Physicians explains that, when losing weight, both men and women are faced with the problem of stubborn pockets of fat that won’t seem to go away with diet and exercise. They note that, because liposuction can have long lasting-effects that prevent fat from growing back for in the long-term, male and female patients can feel confident in being rid of these problem pockets of fat for years to come.
Beverly Hills Physicians explains that the best way to take the next step towards a confidence-building procedure is by scheduling a free consultation at their offices.
