Scientel Announces Support for SQL Queries and Relational Tables Within Its Gensonix® NoSQL DB
Bingham Farms, MI (PRWEB) August 29, 2014 -- Until now, databases have been set up for either structured data (relational tables) or unstructured data (document stores). SQL products have handled structured data effectively for decades, while NoSQL products have basically managed the wide assortment of unstructured data. It has been proven that the only way to work with Big Data is with a NoSQL Database. Unique features and capabilities are required to solve the various aspects of all Big Data issues. Scientel has identified and released 6 distinct features that must be addressed in a DB dealing with Big Data. Since many of the functions highlighted here are found only in different products, enterprises must deploy multiple databases. Gensonix NoSQL DB from Scientel addresses all these features in a single DB.
Multi-modeling is a method to store different varieties of data in different data models within a single DB. This feature validates the reliability and trustworthiness of the data. With multi-modeling, structured Data is stored in data stores like relational tables, network tables or column stores while unstructured Data is stored in unstructured data stores like content stores such as key value/document. With this feature, true Relational tables support storage of untagged structured data. Document stores support efficient storage of unstructured data thus saving storage space by not tagging or manipulating the data. In the past, the focus was on structured data that neatly fit into tables or relational databases, such as financial data. Today, more than 80% of the world’s data is unstructured - such items as photos, videos or social media updates, and can’t easily be put into tables.
A consistent, easy to use NoSQL language that provides referential integrity and concurrency control is also a necessary feature. Today, there are standard SQL queries for structured data and a variety of established high level languages supporting unstructured data. It is difficult to code for all the necessities of a High Performance Computer in a multi-data store environment. Gensonix from Scientel has introduced the NSQL™© language which effectively handles both types of data. Gensonix NSQL language is native to low level languages such as C; supports many intrinsic functions; and performs recursive database/computing operations effectively and efficiently. Performing SQL Queries with structured data is essential in an ALL SQL environment. Scientel addresses the variety of all data with its SQL support from within a NoSQL DB.
The best Databases must also be able to support Online Transaction Processing. Having the ability for advanced data management control allows the data to be managed, accessed and made available 24x7. This is a must to support the vast volumes of data generated every second. The final feature that must be addressed in all Big Data solutions is massively parallel processing of data on High Performance Computers (MPP on HPC). Databases need to support high speed interconnectivity of nodes and massive storage and memory management. This refers to the velocity at which new data is handled/processed and the speed at which data moves around; all of which would have to be stored, managed and processed efficiently. Big data technology must allow us to analyze the data while it is being generated in real time. Supporting multi-dimensional array processing, Gensonix is capable of very proficient analysis of vast amounts of structured and unstructured data at ultrahigh speeds.
Scientel has incorporated all six of these features into GENSONIX which makes the Gensonix NoSQL DB the NEW SQL, while at the same time it is truly an ALL SQL DB.
About Scientel Information Technology, Inc.
Scientel Information Technology, Inc. is a U.S.-based, international, systems technology company, operational since 1977. Scientel also designs/produces highly optimized high end servers, which can be bundled with its "GENSONIX® ENTERPRISE" DBMS software, as a single-source supplier of complete systems for Big Data environments. Scientel also customizes hardware and software for specific applications resulting in higher performance.
Scientel's specialty is advanced NoSQL DBMS design and applications/systems integration for advanced business processes. This includes applications for Big Data, commercial intranets, Supply Chain management, IT consulting, support, etc., along with “beyond mainframe-level” Large Data Warehouse Appliance hardware/systems.
GENSONIX® allows very user-friendly data manipulation capabilities found in standard, SQL-based, database management systems, but it goes beyond. It is truly an "ALL-in-One SQL" -- an “All Data Management System” in the form of an ultra-flexible, NoSQL DBMS of perfectly general capabilities and application potentials. It can also function in concert with mainline SQL systems to efficiently handle both structured and unstructured data as a large data warehouse repository. However, it can handle heavy database loads by itself with the aid of the GENSONIX® NSQL©™ query/procedural language. GENSONIX® supports both telnet as well as http interfaces. GENSONIX® is capable of handling trillions of rows/transactions for billions of customers, which is a huge advantage in “truly Big Data” structured applications.
Business customers can take advantage of Scientel’s capabilities in advanced Business Intelligence and Data Analytics to grow their business by handling Big Data more cost-effectively and with greater insights to remain competitive. Scientific, government, and similar organizations can use these capabilities to efficiently process Big Data, instead of being swamped by it. And, Scientel’s Enterprise Content Management & Search solutions can vastly simplify storage, access, and management of any kind of digitized data for any size organization.
