Second Webinar for The Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012 to be Held by Miniter Group
Norwell, MA (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- Miniter Group today announced the second presentation in their 2014 Flood Insurance Webinar Series for mortgage servicers scheduled for April 10, 2014. The webinar series is focused on the impact of The Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act on loan servicers. The first webinar had an overwhelmingly positive response with over 250 bankers in attendance which reviewed the history of FEMA and the NFIP as well as the changes implemented by The Biggert-Waters Insurance Reform Act.
The second webinar will provide a template to be used by a lender's customer service representative when working with their borrowers who are experiencing premium increases due to Biggert-Waters. This will include advising the borrower regarding FIRM map reviews, elevation certificates, pre-FIRM subsidies, post-FIRM grandfathering and how to manage premium rate increases.
According to Jim Gilpin, EVP of Business Development at Miniter Group:
"This webinar will address the confusion we have seen in the loan servicing marketplace surrounding The Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act. This confusion centers around servicing changes required for loan origination, borrower rate increases, escrow servicing and force-placed insurance. Due to the overwhelming feedback from our first webinar, our second webinar will detail information which can be used by loan servicers to explain options to borrowers who are facing rate increases because of the loss of pre-FIRM subsidies and post-FIRM grandfathering."
