Forming in Boston, Massachusetts in 1983 and influenced by bands such as the Clash, The Specials, UB40, and Bob Marley, Bim Skala Bim was arguably the first third wave ska band. After actively playing until 2002, they decided to start their own label, BiB Records, to produce some of their own new music, as well as work with other ska bands. In 2009 Bim Skala Bim decided to get back on the road again, playing shows throughout the Northeast and London for the past 4 years.
Founded by vocalist Dan Vitale and bassist Mark Ferranti, members also include long time drummer Jim Arhelger, percussionist Rick Barry, keyboardist John Cameron, trombonist Vinny Nobile, guitarist Jim Jones, saxophonist Dave Butts, and guest singer Jackie Starr.
