A large scale anti-scam program launched by BirthCertificate.us.org last month has helped customers avoid scam artists, the company said yesterday.
“When we launched our anti-scam program, we hoped it would be a success,” a BirthCertificate.us.org spokesman said. “And the results are better than we expected. It's true that the best way to stop scam artists in their tracks is to educate the public about them.”
Last month, BirthCertificate.us.org began including information on how scam artists operate on the members-only section of their site, he said. Then, they conducted a survey of existing and new customers to see how effective the information was.
“What we found was that several thousand of our customers said that they had used the information to avoid a scam,” the BirthCertificate.us.org spokesman said. “That let us know that the time and effort we put into building our anti-scam information was well worth the investment.”
Now that the company knows the scam information can help their customers, they will begin to post the information on their social media sites and their blog, BirthCertificateBlog.us.org, he said.
“Our goal is to get this information out to as many people as possible,” the BirthCertificate.us.org spokesman said. “We hate scam artists and we want to make sure people don't become scam victims.”
The company will also expand the anti-scam section with more information as it becomes available.
“There is always a new scam around the corner,” he said.
