Pueblo Toyota Takes Advantage of Black Hills Energy’s Small & Medium Business Direct Install Program, Saves $557 Per Month

Pueblo Toyota recently took advantage of Black Hills Energy’s Small & Medium Business Direct Install Program to complete energy-efficient interior and exterior lighting upgrades at its auto dealership and service center in Pueblo, CO. The lighting upgrades were completed by SmartWatt Energy and resulted in $557 in monthly energy savings and a Black Hills Energy rebate of $11,337.

Pueblo Toyota recently took advantage of Black Hills Energy’s Small & Medium Business Direct Install Program to complete energy-efficient interior and exterior lighting upgrades at its auto dealership and service center in Pueblo, CO. The lighting upgrades were completed by SmartWatt Energy and resulted in $557 in monthly energy savings and a Black Hills Energy rebate of $11,337.

The Black Hills Energy Small & Medium Business Direct Install Program provides a rebate of up to 60 percent to help businesses with an average demand use of 350 kW or less per month conduct energy-efficiency upgrades. SmartWatt Energy, the administrator and implementation contractor for the program, provides a free energy evaluation, recommended energy-efficiency upgrade measures and interest-free financing for the businesses’ remaining portion of the costs.

After performing an energy evaluation of all lighting systems at Pueblo Toyota’s auto dealership and service center, SmartWatt Energy engineered a plan to replace the existing lighting systems with high-efficiency fluorescent and LED lighting fixtures. As a result of these lighting upgrades, Pueblo Toyota has reduced its impact on the environment and has had an equivalent effect as planting 1,070 trees, according to Environmental Protection Agency calculations.
