Blue Ridge Country Recognizes Best Mountain Towns in 25th Anniversary Issue
Roanoke, Va. (PRWEB) July 02, 2013 -- Blue Ridge Country magazine readers have awarded the best mountain towns in the 2013 Best of the Mountains poll.
Asheville, N.C. was awarded platinum for best big city, followed by Roanoke, Va. winning the gold award. Readers voted Charlottesville, Va. as the platinum winner for best medium town, selecting Blacksburg, Va. as the gold winner. Platinum and gold winners for best small town were awarded to Boone, N.C. and Waynesville, N.C.

This year the Best of the Mountains poll features a variety of reader selections, ranging from best waterfall to best southern cooking. Readers submitted their votes online over two months. Ballots produced almost 250 platinum, gold and silver awards for cities, attractions, people and activities in the Blue Ridge Mountain region. Winners were identified in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama.
