Blumark, a leading boutique financial service and tax advisory firm, today announced its sixth annual holiday charity fundraiser, this year benefiting Rochester Outreach and Charity for Kids (ROCKit), of Rochester, Mich.

Blumark will raise funds to support the ROCKit Free Little Libraries program and its overall childhood reading program. The goal of $500 will build and maintain one Free Little Library. Any funds beyond the initial goal that are donated by Blumark clients and friends will be directed to the ROCKit Reading is Fundamental grant.

Additionally, Blumark is asking its clients and friends to donate new or gently used children’s books at its Troy and Novi offices, to supply the ROCKit recycled reader program which stocks the “take one, leave one” Free Little Library locations.

ROCKit participates in the nationwide program to place Free Little Libraries in helpful locations, to help assure that children have access to more books. In this era of tablet use for reading, it is important that children have the chance to access real books for their enjoyment and education. Research shows that children who are read to, and who read themselves, have improved school readiness, language skills, and better vocabularies. *

“ROCKit believes that every child should have the opportunity to learn through reading,” said Blumark Partner James Clark CFP®, ChFC®, CPFA, MBA, who also is a ROCKit Board member. “Their mission is aligned with our Blumark community service philosophy that focuses on literacy, and on creating a safer and more helpful world for local children in need.”

Blumark will be accepting donations through December 20. To donate funds via PayPal, visit http://blumarkadvisors.com/charity/. Donations of new and gently used books may be dropped off at its Troy and Novi offices:
