Bob Montalbano Joins Endangered Species Chocolate as National Director of Sales
The premium chocolate brand recruits food and beverage industry veteran to lead the sales team
INDIANAPOLIS, April 3, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Endangered Species Chocolate (ESC), the number one ranking premium natural chocolate brand, today named Bob Montalbano as its new National Director of Sales.
"Our company mission to support wildlife conservation is only made possible with strong sales of our products. We are thrilled to have Bob on our leadership team to build our growing sales and ensure ESC's continued success," said ESC CEO, Curt VanderMeer. "Under Bob's leadership we're confident our sales team can develop fruitful relationships with our existing retailers and will identify new consumers and markets to introduce ESC's premium chocolate."
In his role, Montalbano's mission is to aim to achieve the ESC revenue and profit necessary to reach the company goal of giving a $1 million annually to conservation. He is tasked with increasing ESC's already robust sales, identifying new channels of business and solidifying their share of the premium chocolate market. Montalbano brings over 25 years of sales experience in the food and beverage industry to ESC, with a reputation for strong and consistent growth. He held national sales roles at Mountain Valley Spring, Materne and Stonyfield, yielding exponential increases of sales across natural, mass market and grocery channels while developing and training representatives.
"I'm excited to join the ESC and help the brand fulfill its mission," said Montalbano. "Their delicious, innovative and premium chocolate comes with a meaningful purpose, and I'm looking forward to introducing their products and longstanding conservation and give-back efforts to new markets of consumers."
In his career he has also served in regional sales manager positions at Merisant, Frontier, Annie's Mac & Cheese, Odwalla, and Pepsi securing consistent growth, training sales teams and developing brand management. He holds a Bachelor's in Economics and Master's in Business Administration from Aurora University.
Motalbano's addition to the company sets another marker in ESC's look to the future. Recently, ESC underwent a redesign of their branding and packaging, replacing the images of animals with elegant graphics inspired by wildlife. Though ESC's look has changed, their mission remains the same as they continue to dedicate 10% of their sales to conservation efforts. In this role, Montalbano is charged with familiarizing retailers with ESC's new look, along with building sales of their new products, including the just launched ESC DUOZ, a revolutionary dual-filled, single serve chocolate bar.
