When the creators of South Park got together to create a funny musical even they could not imagine how popular it would be. But after 9 Tony Awards and sold out shows, the musical is still going strong, and Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone can claim a few attendance records at a number of theaters across the country. The show is already on its second US national tour and it's just as popular as the first time around. The Book of Mormon tickets have been selling so well many venues such as the Pantages Theatre are already on their second run and expect sell outs once again.
The Book of Mormon story line follows two boys on their mission to share their scripture, the Book of Mormon, with the villagers in Uganda. Somehow they manage to bring side-splitting laughter to a village run by a one-eyed warlord and riddled with Aids and distrusting locals. The song and dance numbers garnered Tony Awards for Best Musical and Best Original Score as well as a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
The first performance for the show was at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre on Broadway where it premiered March 24th, 2011. To increase revenue, a fairly new pricing method was used to increase the face value of the most sought-after performances with prices for The Book of Mormon tickets running well over $400 per ticket at the box office. Today theaters across the country use this pricing formula to such a degree that cheaper tickets are often available from secondary ticket sources such as Preferred Seating Tickets.
The Book of Mormon will open at the Pantages Theatre on January 21st and run through March 16th. The Pantages Theatre is a fantastic venue for the performances with the best seats in the orchestra center area in the first 15 rows or the mezzanine level where the seating overhangs about 16 rows out from the stage providing an excellent elevated view.
Preferred Seating Tickets has been the go-between since 1987 for season ticket holders and those looking for theater tickets to some of the best seats in the house.
