Last month, Boopsie sponsored a survey of over 350 librarians to learn more about the value that mobile apps offer diverse communities and the obstacles that libraries face when launching these apps. With a majority of participants representing public and academic libraries, the report explores six key findings of the survey, which featured questions proposed by leaders in the library industry. The report shares such insightful statistics as:
- Over 40% of libraries offer mobile apps, with most of these apps being native.
- Over 20% of libraries plan to launch a mobile app in the near future.
- Of the 26% that have no plans to offer an app, 27% state that they may consider offering one in the future.
