Boopsie and NoveList® Provide Easy Access to Book Recommendations for Library App Patrons

NoveList Select applies NoveList’s expert-generated book recommendations to a library’s catalog. Patrons search for a title in their library’s catalog, and can easily find other recommended titles, based off similar titles, authors or series. If the book is a part of a series, they can also easily access the other books in the series.

Boopsie has taken the NoveList Select integration with library catalogs one step further with their library apps. Now patrons can access those same great recommendations, right from their smartphone or tablet in their local library’s mobile app. There is no additional download to be made, patrons simply search for a book from their library app catalog, and find the recommended titles.
“Patrons love NoveList Select,” says Frances Tong, Naperville Public Library’s information technology manager. “They enjoy being able to quickly find book recommendations on their own time.”
The Naperville Public Library launched their app in April 2012, but only added access to their NoveList Select subscription in October of 2012. Prior to integrating NoveList Select into their library app, there was an average of 1,013 unique users accessing their catalog every month; after introducing their NoveList Select subscription, catalog use increased to an average of 1,900 users a month.
