Red Sox fans are not the only ones celebrating their third World Series title since 2004 as USA United Cash Loans has announced that it will offer its customers 25% off all of their services in honor of Boston’s historic victory.
"We just felt like this was a special victory for Boston and for the Red Sox," said a representative of USA United Cash Loans. "After all the city had been through, to see this team come together the way they did reminded us this was a special group with admirable qualities, and certainly worth celebrating."
After the Boston Marathon was bombed in a terrorist attack that rocked the entire city, David Ortiz famously reminded the Boston faithful in a speech that the city itself is resilient, and that the Boston players always take on the characteristics of Bostonians. Never was that more true than in this season, where a group of beard-tugging overachievers captured the hearts of a city in a way that few Boston teams ever had before.
"We saw a group that was greater than the sum of its parts, that prided itself more on teamwork and camaraderie than on talent," said the representative while explaining the impetus for the promotion. "There is a lot of the American Dream in that team, and we felt this was a great time to reward that spirit."
Ortiz, who was named MVP of the series, delivered another speech, this time in the dugout during Game 4. With the game tied 1-1, the Sox looked listless, so Ortiz woke them up with a dramatic and uplifting speech. Moments later, Jonny Gomes drilled a three-run homer to give them the lead and all the momentum they would need for the remainder of the series. Ortiz is now a three-time World Series Champion, and a legitimate October legend in Boston.
USA United Cash Loans sees a lot of the Red Sox in their clients. "Our clients want to be successful, and I think they can identify with the Red Sox. They had a goal, worked at it relentlessly, and achieved it. I believe our clients can appreciate those qualities." When asked if he believed Yankees fan would take advantage of the promotion, the representative laughed, saying, "Well, it is 25% off. That’s a good deal even if it is in honor of your bitter rival."
