Hawley adds, “The 1963 Von Schmidt poster features tribal like graphics and was printed on thin paper. In 1964 and 1965, the promoters switched to boxing style concert posters. The posters were printed on thick poster board and measured approximately 14 x 22 inches. They were printed locally by the Franklin Poster Company. Both posters use block lettering where the bands were listed below a graphic of some hands playing a guitar. This egalitarian style fit the mood and the atmosphere of the times.” For examples of Dylan boxing style posters, go to http://www.vintageconcertposterbuyer.com/boxing_style/bob_dylan.html.
