Avid collector, Andrew Hawley from Vintage Rock Posters, announces his search for original 1966 Grateful Dead Santa Venetia Armory boxing style concert posters. These rare boxing style concert posters were printed in small quantities for the venues supporting the Bay Area music scene in the 1960s. The concert was held on December 29, 1966. According to Hawley, “This poster is unique because early Dead concert posters had psychedelic graphic layouts. Tighlman Press of Oakland, California printed about 200 of this classic boxing poster for the Santa Venetia Dead concert. The poster features a common grateful dead promo photo along with an effective green and yellow split fountain like color combination. The promoters for the show were Ralph and Al Pepe.” For examples of boxing style rock concert posters, go to http://www.vintageconcertposterbuyer.com/boxing_style/index.html
