Serious buyer, Andrew Hawley from Vintage Rock Posters, Inc., announces his search for Janis Joplin 1969 Madison Square Garden boxing style concert posters. Joplin played the Garden once in her career. The concert was held on December 19, 1969. According to Hawley, “From all accounts, the concert was a smashing success and a complete sellout. It is hard to believe this incredible talent would be no longer with us less than a year later. The Garden hosted many of the top rock n roll acts in the late 1960s such as The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, The Cream, and Led Zeppelin.”
Hawley continues, “The boxing style poster used to advertise the show was 14 x 22 inches. The poster has a stunning artistic picture of Joplin with purple and gold psychedelic lettering on a black background. It was printed on very thick cardboard paper. What is unique about this poster is there are no printing credits on it. This is baffling for such a high profile concert at the Garden. Most posters of the time were printed either by Murray Poster Company or EJ Warner.” For more information about Janis Joplin boxing style posters, go to http://www.vintageconcertposterbuyer.com/gallery_janis_joplin.html.
Hawley will pay $3,000 original 1969 Janis Joplin Madison Square Garden concert posters or any other original 1967-1970 Joplin concert posters. If you happen to have one these gems, please call 310-346-1965 or email Hawley at andrew (at) vintageconcertposterbuyer (dot) com.
