New Mobile Interactive Retail Concept is Made from Shipping Containers
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) March 12, 2014 -- Digital agency Razorfish and their Emerging Experiences group unveiled what the future of retail will look like at the recent National Retail Federation Annual Convention and Expo in New York City.
Since 2009, Boxman Studios has worked with global brands to create some of the most iconic structures imaginable out of old shipping containers, and the RZRShop by Razorfish is no exception. Packed with more technology than most permanent retail stores, RZRShop discreetly hides meters and meters of electrical wiring to power and connect gaming consoles, track lighting, speakers, computers, a projector, one 46″ LED display, four 75″ LED displays, and an entire rack of servers.
“It truly is a one-of-a-kind retail experience,” says Boxman Studios CEO David Campbell.
Utilizing a groundbreaking 5D Retail Experience Platform, RZRShop minimized inventory while maximizing floor space, as the 5D Platform seamlessly bridges across digital devices and platforms to drive product engagement and arm in-store staff with digital tools.
The experience started with a Kinect-powered dual screen interactive soccer game, where users were rewarded with a RZRSport drink based on performance. From there visitors designed their own surfboards by choosing the material of the board, the graphics, color, and other customizable options as they watched in real time while their choices were projected onto an actual surfboard.
In the end, the Emerging Experiences team was impressed with the results of the show. Steve Dawson, Global Technology Director, had this to say: “Working side-by-side with Boxman [Studios] over the course of the last few months has been a wonderful experience. They were able to operate as a natural extension on our team and were instrumental in bringing our vision to life. We challenged the Boxman team along the way with ambitious requirements and they ultimately responded & delivered a world-class brand immersion environment.”
