Cornerstone, Vibrant Hub of Monroe Street Market, Commences Leasing
Greenbelt, MD (PRWEB) April 03, 2014 -- The Bozzuto Group, a Greenbelt, MD-based real estate services company, announced today that Cornerstone, the third and last building at Monroe Street Market has commenced leasing, and that the community will host a new weekly farmers market beginning this spring.
The Monroe Street Market farmers market will be held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from May 10 through November 22, 2014. Operated by Lydia’s Fields, a local farm dedicated to growing organic produce, the market will feature 10-20 regional farmers and food producers including Chesley Farms, Upper Crust Bakery, Zeke’s Coffee, Sweet Teensy, Delish Jams & Jellies, and Bonaparte Breads, among others.
Located at the Brookland-CUA metro station in Washington, DC, Monroe Street Market consists of three buildings, Brookland Works, Portland Flats and Cornerstone, encompassing approximately 720 residences, 45 townhomes, 83,000 square feet of street-level retail, 15,000 square feet of artist studio space, a 3,000 square-foot community arts center, and 850 parking spaces.
Cornerstone, the vibrant hub of the $200 million project, will house the majority of Monroe Street Market’s amenities as well as 310 apartment residences. The building will have a “contemporary eclectic” feel, accented by natural reclaimed woods, metals, stone, and traditional touches throughout the 310 residences and the amenity spaces.
Residents will enjoy a well-appointed lobby with grand fireplace and resident concierge; an e-Café with iMac and PC computers; expansive resident lounge with an indoor-outdoor fireplace, demonstration kitchen, billiards, three televisions and ample seating; outdoor lounges with grills, seating, and outdoor televisions alongside lush, landscaped courtyards; resort-style, infinity-edge pool with sundeck including bar, grill areas and chaise lounges; an outdoor public square, O’Connell Plaza, perfect for enjoying food and drink from on-site restaurants; and a state-of-the-art fitness center with cardio theatre, yoga studio, and strength and circuit training equipment.
Residences will feature gourmet kitchens with Rose White granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and 42” shaker style cabinetry; stained concrete flooring or natural hickory engineered wood flooring; and select homes will feature 18-foot ceilings and private entrances directly on Lawrence Street.
“We are thrilled to begin leasing the residences of Cornerstone, the heart of Monroe Street Market,” said Toby Bozzuto, president, The Bozzuto Group. “Cornerstone is where our residents will experience, more than anywhere else within the community, a seamless convergence of spectacular amenities, outdoor space, shopping, restaurants, and the arts.”
In fall 2013, Monroe Street Market announced Barnes & Noble @ Catholic University as the anchor retailer for the development, which will be located in the Cornerstone Building. Other retailers include Brookland Pint, a 4,200 square foot restaurant owned by the team behind Meridian Pint and Smoke & Barrel, Busboys and Poets, &pizza, and Potbelly Sandwich Shop. Retail leasing is being handled by H&R Retail.
Monroe Street Market’s leasing office is now open at 701 Monroe Street NE, Washington, DC 20017. For more information, visit http://www.monroestreetmarket.com or call (866) 339-1478.
