Brahman Cattle for Sale Conform to New Weights and Measures Parameters
The ABBA show proceeded with a new wrinkle this year. In an effort to improve the uniformity of the show ring, the ABBA Show Committee approved new weight and measurement parameters, which were applied for the first time to the cattle shown here. The parameters were quite liberal but served to eliminate those cattle which that were over-sized or under-sized, and thus do not conform to current industry standards. In order for the larger community of cattlemen to continue to see Brahman cattle for sale as the “common denominator” of cross-breeding programs, hewing closer to standards will benefit Brahman cattle ranchers in the long run by enhancing the reputation of Brahman cattle as a brand that can be trusted.
