Fort Worth Attorney Coby L. Wooten Obtains $897K Verdict on Behalf of RadioShack in Breach of Contract, Negligence Case
Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) November 16, 2014 -- Fort Worth negligence attorney Coby L. Wooten is pleased to announce his firm has obtained a verdict for $897,953.60, plus attorneys fees, in a breach of contract and negligence case on behalf of his client RadioShack Corp.
The case involved breach of contract and negligence by High Definition Logistics, which was hired by RadioShack to ship a load of cell phones from Louisville, KY, to Fort Worth, Texas. (Case No. 048-258128-12; RadioShack Corp. vs. High Definition Logistics, LLC, et al; in the 48th Judicial District Court of Tarrant County, Texas). The verdict was returned on Nov. 10, said Wooten, a Fort Worth lawyer with nearly 20 years’ experience.
According to court documents, High Definition subcontracted the job to a trucking company named DNR, which left the truck unattended, and the truck was stolen. The load was valued at more than $892,000. According to court documents, the empty trailer was later found in the port of Miami.
Representing RadioShack, Attorney Wooten sued High Definition for breach of contract under the terms of the contract and for negligence, according to court documents.
“Many companies are harmed because of breach of contract or negligence, and they need to know they do have recourse and can be compensated for their losses,” Wooten said. “These cases not only are about getting fair compensation for a plaintiff, but they’re about sending a message that companies that are negligent or fail to follow the terms of a contract will be held accountable.”
Wooten said cases involving breach of contract and negligence are difficult and require the services of an experienced trial attorney.
“While these types of cases sometimes settle, they also can go to trial,” Wooten said. “That’s why you need an aggressive and knowledgeable trial attorney on your side, fighting for your rights every step of the way. As an attorney who has obtained many successful settlements and verdicts over the years, I’m proud of the work I’ve done on behalf of clients. And the case involving my client RadioShack is no exception. I prepare every case as if it’s going to trial. I know what’s required at trial to get the result my clients need.”
Wooten, who also represents individuals in personal injury claims, said he encourages people to call his firm today to speak with a knowledgeable attorney.
“Our clients come from all walks of life,” Wooten said. “We represent Texans who were injured in accidents, but also take cases involving businesses like RadioShack that have been financially harmed because of negligence or breach of contract. If you have a legal problem, give our firm a call, and we will let you know if we can help. We will make sure your case is treated with the seriousness it deserves.”
Wooten said an attorney can help pursue compensation for losses and make sure the negligent party is held accountable.
