A Modern Boutique is showing their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a new collection. The Tickle Me Pink collection was created exclusively for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and features necklaces tickled with pink. Each necklace is named after a woman who has been through breast cancer.
A Modern Boutique will feature a new necklace each week during the month of October and each has a story to go with it. In addition, A Modern Boutique's Facebook Page, http://www.Facebook.com/amodernboutique, will feature women affected by breast cancer. They encourage fans to post pictures of their loved ones and share their stories to honor the woman who are fighting or have fought this disease.
After losing her mother-in-law to breast cancer, co-founder Diane Terry, knows how real it is to so many people. “We created the necklaces in honor of these women, who have gone through a lot,” said Terry. Terry, who lost her mother-in-law Nancie to breast cancer, also wants women battling the disease that they are not alone.
The mother-daughter team recently donated necklaces to women at the The Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) Breast Cancer Program. One woman was touched by the gesture, said, “sometimes you do feel alone, sometimes you do feel forgotten.” Indeed, they are not alone. The American Cancer Society estimates that one in 36 women will die from breast cancer. The increased awareness along with early detection and better treatment, mean the numbers have been improving.
