'We support this cause every year,' says Dr. Deutsch. 'I feel a particularly strong pull towards supporting breast cancer awareness because of my profession, obviously, but also because of my mother, who is a breast cancer survivor.'
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 30, 2013
In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Atlanta plastic surgeon Dr. Mark Deutsch of Perimeter Plastic Surgery will be donating a portion of the profits from all breast augmentations performed at the Atlanta plastic surgery practice to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. This is part of the practice’s annual recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is held in October every year.
This is a cause that is close to Dr. Deutsch’s heart for professional reasons as well as personal ones. On a professional level, Dr. Deutsch performs many breast reconstruction surgeries a year, so he is often in contact with women who have survived breast cancer and is well aware of their struggles. On a personal level, Dr. Deutsch feels very strongly about supporting breast cancer awareness because his mother is a breast cancer survivor.
"We support this cause every year," says Dr. Deutsch. "I feel a particularly strong pull towards supporting breast cancer awareness because of my profession, obviously, but also because of my mother, who is a breast cancer survivor. This is our way of honoring her and every other woman who has to go through what she did."
Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the largest breast cancer organization in the United States. The organization, founded in 1982, spreads awareness about breast cancer and has donated almost $1.5 billion to cancer research and education. The organization has over 100,000 volunteers and works all over the world. More information can be found at http://ww5.komen.org/.
