BRECKENRIDGE, Colo., May 8, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Thanks to its 9,600' elevation and the fact that Breck is often blessed with plentiful snowfall and excellent spring snow conditions, it was announced earlier this year that the Breckenridge Ski Resort (moving forward) plans to extend its Ski Season by nearly a month, starting this Ski Season!
So, as Winter Marches on here in the high Rockies, the extended season has officially been dubbed "Breck's Spring Finale" and will continue through Memorial Day Weekend (Monday May 27, 2019). To celebrate, the resort is hosting plenty of on mountain activities and entertainment. From daily snow volleyball and beach games at the Bud Light Beach to rail jams, live music and a mobile snowcat DJ traversing the slopes on the weekends.
For this extended portion of this Ski Season, skiers and snowboarders can enjoy approximately 1,000 acres of terrain on Peaks 6, 7 & 8 with access to intermediate, advanced and expert level terrain via the Independence SuperChair, T-Bar, 6-Chair, Imperial Express, Zendo and Kensho chairs. Full-service on mountain dining will be available at Sevens and The Coop at the base of Peak 7 and limited food and beverage service will be available at Pioneer Crossing.
To access all open terrain, resort buses will continuously loop between Breck Station and Peak 7 throughout the day during resort hours (9a – 4p). Free parking will be available in both the Gondola North and South lots. In addition, the Breck Freeride Black Route will run from 6:15am – 11:15pm with pickups at Breck station on approximately the :15 and :45 of each hour.
"This season has simply been incredible." says Tiana Wales with Ski Country Resorts, a long time local property management company in Breckenridge. "We've received over 430" of snowfall since the Ski Resort opened early in November and the snow just keeps coming! We've received nearly another foot in just the past week!"
And she's not wrong. Simply put, the 2018/2019 Breckenridge Ski Season has been one full of breaking records. From exorbitant amounts of snowfall, the likes of which has not been seen for as far back as 120 years, to officially offering one of the longest running ski seasons in the country. There's plenty to do, lots to celebrate and still some incredible snow conditions to enjoy in these final days before Closing Day!
