Brightree Announces Next-Generation Home Health and Hospice Solutions at 2013 NAHC Annual Meeting
ATLANTA (PRWEB) October 31, 2013 -- Brightree LLC, the leading provider of cloud-based clinical, billing and business management software solutions for the post-acute care industry, will be showcasing its latest innovations for the home health and hospice industry at the 2013 National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) Annual Meeting starting today. The new solutions include its next-generation clinical point-of-care application for the iPad, a business intelligence dashboard and the ability to document directly against the care plan – all designed to help simplify the capture of clinical data while maximizing compliance and business performance.
“As the first electronic medical record (EMR) provider in the home health and hospice space to demonstrate a clinical solution for the iOS platform that can operate in a connected or disconnected environment, Brightree reinforces its commitment to bringing leading-edge technology to this industry that is ripe for innovation,” said Chris Watson, chief marketing officer at Brightree. “By empowering clinicians and business operators with user-friendly, intelligent technology, we believe we can help care providers take their rightful position in the U.S. healthcare system of dramatically reducing the cost of care while improving the patient experience.”
Brightree will be demonstrating the following solutions at the NAHC Annual Meeting in booth #903:
• Next generation clinical point-of-care – This native iOS application, to be generally available mid-next year, combines advanced technology with mobile capabilities of the iPad to enable clinicians to document and input clinical data at the point-of-care without sacrificing accuracy and compliance. The solution’s intuitive design and interface make it easier for clinicians to learn and use in order to streamline clinical care while reducing hardware costs. Productivity and patient care will improve as well with the ability to document clinical information faster with easy access to a holistic view of patients’ history and needs. Initially focused on follow-up visit assessments, the new solution leverages Brightree's CareTouch Logic engine to only present information needed for specific conditions. In 2014, the full release will include all of the functionality inherent in the current Windows-based solution, such as initial assessment and Outcomes and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) support as well as hospice-specific requirements like Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) reporting and much more.
• Document Against the Care Plan – New updates enable clinicians to easily and securely document against the care plan with the required clinical documentation that is integrated within the software, ensuring compliance in a market faced with increasing regulatory and compliance issues. Without thorough documentation, providers may not match the correct treatments with the right patients, leaving clinicians vulnerable during audits and reimbursement. With Brightree, clinicians are required to follow the care plans that support patient-specific problems, interventions and goals, eliminating the need to make corrections on the back end.
• Intelligent Dashboard – Brightree’s new intelligent dashboard gives home health and hospice providers personalized access to actionable, business insights and key performance indicators (KPIs), such as referrals, admissions and discharge, that support better decision-making. Visual trends give administrators real-time access to operational data, enabling them to drill-down to the root causes of business successes and challenges so that action can be taken to increase financial performance, without running reports or waiting until the end of the month when it is too late to make the necessary changes.
• Electronic patient signature – Brightree has added the ability to capture the patient’s signature electronically inside the visit record. This new feature not only saves time over manual collection and storing of patients’ signatures, but also prevents fraud by confirming the actual visit with the patient’s signature captured and stored in the visit record. Best practices are also enforced and compliance is ensured with built-in alerts if this critical step in the visit is missed or late.
