University of Florida alumnus Kristy Moffat recently opened her Brightway Insurance store in Haile Plantation at 9127 SW 52nd Ave, Suite D-103.

Initially drawn to Brightway because of its fast-growing brand, Moffat decided that the company’s access to numerous insurance companies and its sales-focused business model were great reasons to join the leading independent insurance agency franchise and open its 102nd Florida location.

Prior to opening her Brightway store, Moffat was a regional manager for Weston Insurance. She also worked for Perr & Knight, an insurance consulting firm. Her insurance experience began with State Farm Insurance in 1999, where she spent the majority of her career.

Moffat holds several insurance and financial designations, including that of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, which is held by less than five percent of those employed in the insurance industry; Chartered Life Underwriter; Chartered Financial Consultant; Fellow, Life Management Institute; and Fellow, Financial Services Institute.

Moffat is president of the North Central Florida CPCU Chapter as well as a member of Alachua County Emerging Leaders, Gainesville Area Women’s Network and Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from the University of Florida.

Brightway operates more than 110 franchise locations in eight states.
