About Brook Eddy and Bhakti Chai:
Brook Eddy has a graduate degree in Social Policy and Non-Profit Management from the University of Michigan. She has spent her career working with nonprofits, businesses, and NGOs that focus on social impact. Dedication to social change and a passion for travel led Brook to India in 2002 to research a movement based on the principles of Bhakti, or “devotion through social action.” Upon her return to the U.S., Brook was unable to find the invigorating chai from her travels and began brewing her own fragrant and fresh chai. In 2007, this single mother of twins dove into producing an artisan chai steeped in social and environmental change and Bhakti was born.
Brook’s vision of fusing fresh, sustainably sourced ingredients (Fair Trade, NonGMO, Organic) with triple bottom line business practices as a Certified B Corp continues to manifest as Bhakti Chai donates generously to non-profits empowering women and girls. Bhakti Chai concentrate products, ready-to-drink iced chai, a finely curated artisan dry tea line, and ice cream are available at Whole Foods Markets, independent/natural grocery stores, Costco, and cafés around the country.
