Brookhaven Retreat Completes Clinical Training in December
Knoxville, TN (PRWEB) December 16, 2014 -- Consultant Dr. Jennifer Payne visited Brookhaven Retreat December 8-9. The two-day visit offered Dr. Payne a chance to first meet with individual clients at the facility, and then conduct an off-site comprehensive clinical training for staff the following day.
Owner and founder Jacqueline Dawes and Brookhaven Retreat’s clinical and medical team attended the offsite training. Led by Dr. Payne, the group discussed unique mental health disorders such as mania, schizophrenia and psychosis and how they are present in other mood disorders. The training also reviewed proper medications and their level of effectiveness in treating each disorder.
The day continued with the group participating in an analysis of real life cases and reviewing current policies and procedures in place to ensure the highest quality of care is given to clients at Brookhaven Retreat.
Brookhaven Retreat takes pride in its routine trainings and in-depth case reviews. Primary therapist Marlaina Kincaid states, “This training was exceptionally important in teaching the entire staff all the different symptoms of these mental health disorders so that we are better aware of what to look for.” She continued, “Trainings like these allow us to diagnose quickly and effectively, and guarantee the best level of care to each woman at our facility.”
On-going training, open discussions and a highly skilled staff are what make Brookhaven Retreat’s approach to mental health care unique and successful.
