MONTREAL, Mar. 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Charter Bus Rental and Rideshare start-up Bus.com has officially announced its 1st annual $5K STEM Scholarship. The scholarship is open to all students enrolling in a STEM curriculum program at the college or university level in the fall semester of 2019.
"As a tech start-up, we know the importance of a STEM education," said Kyle Boulay, CEO of Bus.com. "But we're also aware of the financial pressures that come with pursuing higher education. So we decided to make a difference in one student's life every year by lifting some of that financial pressure, and helping them stay focused on their educational goals."
To qualify for the $5K STEM Scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in (or planning to attend) an accredited 2-4 year college/university as a full-time student in the Fall 2019, have a GPA of 3.4 or higher, and submit a ~500 word essay demonstrating their candidacy. Detailed Eligibility Requirements are available on the STEM Scholarship application page.
"Our company values innovation. We're always looking to onboard talent because creating new technologies and solving problems depends on it," said Martin Provencher, CTO of Bus.com. "With this scholarship, we're looking to go one step further than recruiting. We want to foster talents when they are getting started!"
The deadline for applications is July 5, 2019, and the Top 10 applicants will also be short-listed on the Bus.com website 2 weeks prior to the recipient being announced on August 6, 2019. The recipient will be up to the sole discretion of Bus.com, based on the quality of content submitted, and payment submitted directly to the recipient.
