The 2015/2016 school year will be here soon. Imagine having $2,500 for your classroom. What would you buy?
Whether it’s for new books, electronic learning systems or supplies, the next recipient of California Casualty’s Academic Award will be starting the school year right with $2,500 for their students. All it takes is filling out the simple entry form at http://www.calcasacademicaward.com. The entry deadline for the next drawing is July 11.
The $2,500 Academic Award was created to give educator’s wallets a break. Surveys show they shell out an average of $500 each year for school room supplies, with many spending much more. The most recent winner, Tara, a 2nd grade teacher from Escondido, California, said she is thrilled to be able to purchase books and learning games for her current students and the hundreds of others who will benefit for many years to come.
Other past winners include:
- Holly, kindergarten teacher in Holland, Ohio
- Michelle, 5th grade teacher in Redwood City, California
- Elaine, high school teacher in Atwater, California
- Karen, 3rd grade teacher in Las Vegas, Nevada
“We are committed to educators,” said California Casualty Sr. Vice President Mike McCormick. “This is another way we can say thanks for the hard work they do educating future generations.”
