California Casualty has extended the deadline for the final $10,000 Firehouse Makeover from July 14 to September 1, 2014. California Casualty protects firefighters with auto and home insurance, and wants to make sure every fire company has a chance to enter the contest to transform their “home away from home.”

Due to the extraordinarily busy fire and disaster season, California Casualty is giving firefighters more time to enter the final $10,000 Firehouse Makeover. The deadline has been extended from July 14 to September 1, 2014.

“We know that the job comes first and with so many fires, floods, tornadoes, and other maladies, we want everyone to have a fair chance to enter,” said Mike McCormick, California Casualty Vice President. “We think it’s important to say thank you and support the courageous men and women who protect us.” California Casualty protects American heroes like firefighters with auto and home insurance.

The Thompson, Georgia Fire Department won the first California Casualty Firehouse Makeover in December 2012. They received new appliances, flat screen TV, and a more comfortable sleeping area.

The Munhall, Pennsylvania Volunteer Fire Company #1, winner of the second Firehouse Makeover in November 2013, is enjoying new sleeping quarters and beds, fresh paint, and new appliances that accommodate more volunteer firefighters to help protect the community.
