Camera IQ Launches Social Distribution Solution to Unlock the Full Potential of Programmatic AR Advertising
Camera IQ becomes the first company to help brands create, manage, and measure augmented-reality marketing and ad content across channels, including Facebook and Snapchat
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Camera IQ, the world's first augmented reality (AR) platform for camera marketing, today launched their social distribution solution for programmatic AR marketing and advertising.
The announcement comes on the heels of recent news by both Facebook and Snap about AR advertising. Back in July, Facebook announced that it was testing AR ads. It was also written that, "Snap is betting its future on AR ads." On September 27th, Snap took this capability out of beta and made it available to all advertisers. These announcements are accompanied by several new platform plays, including Snapchat's new e-commerce features, Mozilla pushes web AR, and Shopify AR powered by 3D Warehouse.
Camera IQ's platform allows these brands to easily create and test the AR content that they plan to deploy AR experiences inside of advertisements bought on the Facebook and Snap programmatic platforms. Now, for the first time ever, there is an integrated AR ecosystem that supports an end-to-end AR strategy, from content creation to performance monitoring and optimization.
"Facebook and Snap have taken a major step forward in developing the AR ecosystem with paid advertising. Just as we saw with social, this is the moment where AR goes from nice-to-have content, to a key component of any digital strategy," said Allison Wood, CEO and co-founder of Camera IQ. "By making it possible to rapidly create and deploy AR content at scale, we're helping brands capitalize on the new advertising opportunities Snap and Facebook make possible."
Using Camera IQ's Camera Experience Manager (CEM), brands can leverage their best digital assets to rapidly create Augmented Reality Experiences (AREs). Brands are then able to deploy their AREs across both organic and paid distribution channels, including Snap's and Facebook's paid-media platforms. They can also measure the performance of AR content across multiple distribution channels, so they can execute A/B tests and quickly lock in a winning strategy.
"The camera has increasingly become a key part of how we express ourselves, communicate, and learn from the world around us," said Carolina Arguelle, Global Head of Augmented Reality, Product Marketing at Snapchat. "As the camera rises in importance, brands have a unique opportunity to connect with their customers through the camera. We are very excited to see Camera IQ help to further the democratization of AR for brands — making it simple and fast to create."
In today's media environment, brands have to move quickly to capitalize on a cultural moment and keep their audiences engaged. Camera IQ helps brands respond to this reality by making it possible to quickly create and deploy made-for-the-moment AR experiences, as a part of a strategic campaign or in response to a real-time, unplanned event.
"The camera has given us an entirely new way to engage with our customers – both in utility through product interactions and play through the various AR lenses," said Michael Broukhim, of FabFitFun. "With Camera IQs social distribution solution, we're able to use that same magic as a part of an integrated strategy that spans marketing, advertising and customer acquisition. This is the piece we've needed to go all-in on the camera."
Camera IQ is working with major agencies and brands such as R/GA, AEG Presents, Major League Soccer, FabFitFun, Viacom, and Turner to create, deploy, and measure camera content to their audiences at scale.
"Partnering with Camera IQ has created new and exciting opportunities for major brands to meet their customer where they are –– in the camera," said Kyle Bunch, Managing Director of R/GA's Social practice. "The cultural moment for AR and VR is now, and its important that brands build their long-term strategy to capitalize on the power of this new medium."
