HENDERSONVILLE, N.C., May 14, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- For 25 years, Camp Bob has provided summer camp opportunities to youth throughout the South and East through sponsoring organizations. This year, week-long summer camps will be opened to all youth in Western North Carolina, the community that surrounds Camp Bob (Hendersonville, NC).
This week-long overnight camp is designed for children ages eight through sixteen, and will include all the traditional camp offerings with a leadership development focus. A day at Camp Bob is filled with songs, reading hour, camp activities and nutritious meals. Highlights for the week include the opportunity to pursue a new hobby through adventure club, photography club, swimming club, nature club and performing arts club. Evening festivities such as campfire and songs, carnival, or a talent show end the day on a high note.
"We focus on positive camp community, leadership development, and strengthening camper's connection to the outdoors," says Andrea Garber, Camp Bob Program Director.
Fun, fond memories, and new friends are the immediate impact of Camp Bob, but the ultimate hope is to positively influence the next generation. A vision statement serves as a daily reminder to counselors and all of those involved.
"Our vision is to nourish the potential of all youth to become agents of change in their communities. We really want to inspire our campers to feel empowered that they can go back home and into their neighborhoods to make positive change," says Andrea.
